第一句是“反意疑问句”(disjunctive question)，由两部分组成，前一部分如果是肯定形式，后一部分就用否定形式；如果前一部分如果是否定形式，后一部分就用肯定形式。这种句型既可用升调提问，也可以用降调发问。如用升调，它表示说话人的主观想法，并希望得到对方yes或no回答；如用降调，它除了表示说话人的主观想法之外，还预料对方会同意他的看法。

第二句是第一句的变体。它的第一部分如用肯定式，第二部分也用肯定式；第一部分如用否定形式,高中化学，第二部分也用否定形式。这种句型具有加强语感的功能，同时还能根据具体的场合，表示惊奇、轻视、讥讽、威吓等语义。

第三句则是第二句的变体，这种句型表示说话者的一种较有把握的猜测。
